World Challenge 2018

Miss M. Young, World Challenge Co-ordinator —

Twelve super excited students and two teachers will be departing on their World Challenge Expedition this Sunday.

The challenger’s journey to Thailand and Laos started 14 months ago when they signed up and made a commitment to raise the $7500 funds for their expedition. It has been a long road with many sacrifices and hard work but with only two more sleeps to go, it will all be worthwhile.

World Challenge is a student-led educational expedition designed to develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, confidence, self-esteem, and global awareness, all of which will enhance future employment opportunities.

The expedition is arranged around five distinct phases: Planning and Preparation, Acclimatisation, Jungle Trek, a Community Project and finally Rest and Relaxation. The girls will be stretched beyond their comfort zones as they overcome diversity and understand their strength and weaknesses. They will gain an appreciation for other cultures and a broader global perspective. It is a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, friendship and laughter.
