On Thursday 14 September at the Edgar Sports Centre our Pasifika Culture Group, Pacific Pearls, performed outstandingly at the annual Otago Polynesian Festival. 

This was followed up by another great performance at the Otago Museum on Saturday in support of the Museum's Creative Pasifika Week. This year the group's items represented our Samoan, Tongan and Fijian cultures. The group would especially like to thank their tutors Ana Fa'anunu, Sabrina Falefatu and Alex Matagi-Stevenson. The group would also like to acknowledge parents Asena Vakalala and Lavinia Tavake who assisted them with the group's garments and our percussionists Suafai Tuuan and Jason Alai.
