Talofa lava, Malo e lelei, my name is Praise Hola and I am one of the Sports Prefects for 2023. I am truly honoured and blessed to be representing the school through this role. I am an athlete and sportswoman participating in a variety of sports which include Volleyball, Netball, Basketball and Touch. I believe that sport is an amazing way to connect, create and build lifelong relationships and friendships. Through this role I hope to encourage and support all athletes at Otago Girls’ High School (whether social or competitive) in all aspects of their sporting endeavours. Kia Ora everyone! My name is Andie, and alongside Praise I am very excited to be one of your sports prefects for 2023. I love sports, especially swimming (and basically any water sport you can think of), I also enjoy photography and being creative. This year I want to focus on bringing more inclusivity, positivity and enthusiasm to sport within our school. I believe there is a place for everyone in the sporting community whether it be playing in a team, volunteer coaching, or even just supporting sports teams - there is definitely something for everyone. I also want to hear about all of your sporting achievements (no matter how big or small) so we can celebrate and recognise the incredible talent we have within our community. There are a lot of fun things on the plan this year, so keep an eye out for any notices and in your emails so you don’t miss out on anything.
