Fiordland Adventure - Year 10 Camp
What was your favourite memory from Year 10 Camp?
“My favourite memories at camp was the van rides. Where we would talk and laugh at everything and sing to every song. Although the van rides was only a small part of camp, I learnt that you have to take in the small moments because you will never live them again.” - Omega
“Driving to Milford Sound, I got to experience and see some incredible sights and go on a cruise where I saw dolphins and got splashed in the face by a waterfall as well as the talent show.” - Emma
“When we saw a pod of dolphins on the nature cruise and when Lily met a Scottish person and subconsciously copied his accent.” - Sophie
“The best part of camp for me was when me, Lucy, Lily, Aviah, Sophie and Rizzy D absolutely devoured at the talent show. We flawlessly performed a beautiful rendition of the “Tell me Why” scene from Brooklyn 99 and then me and Lucy seamlessly rapped “Aaron Burr, Sir” from Hamilton.” - Ava
“One of my favourite memories was the talent show. I performed a song from the Hamilton musical with Ava and we were incredible and totally should’ve won. It was great as anyone could participate and show their talents.” - Lucy
“We were playing card games in the cruise when the dolphins came to the boat. Suddenly, all game thoughts were dissolved in the cacophony of squeals, screeches, and singing (Disney? No, Symphony). If you were listening, you’d be rendered deaf. But you aren’t listening. Instead, you’re lost in the waves, in the soft sea spray that covers their sleek grey shapes. You’re lost in the pod of one, two, four, five dolphins, fins rising out the waves, then the dives. They rise out the water, glistening in the light of the afternoon sun of the sound. For a moment, they are majestic creatures of the sea. Then, their bottlenoses enter the ocean, and they are lost to the surf. But they resurface again, and again, forever in our memories.” - Ridima
