Year 10 Students Explore Dunedin Public Library
Last week in I-Time, a group of Year 10 students who were keen to extend themselves took part in a special session at the Dunedin Public Library.
The students were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour, where they learned about the impressive machine that sorts returned books and visited the stacks – an area where books that are not frequently issued are stored.
Following the tour, students heard an excellent talk from the Heritage Collections staff. They explored a range of historical collections, including some featuring Otago Girls’ High School. A real highlight of the visit was the opportunity to view a page from a book created in the 1400s — an incredible glimpse into history.
A big thank you to the team at Dunedin Public Library for providing such an engaging and inspiring experience.
