Sports Day 2019

Sports Day

Sophie Wilson, Sports Prefect and Tessa Buschl, Deputy Sports Prefect —

Otago Girls' Sports Day took place on Friday 15 February at the Caledonian.

The day begun with the loud and exciting march past with house themes consisting of Flora's festival (Allan house), Benjamin's birthday, Cruickshank's cops and robbers and William's workers. The array of creative costumes we witnessed was absolutely incredible. Once activities got under way, the sun came out and we had some amazing weather.

There was fierce competition throughout all the events as well many records being broken by some of our amazing athletes. Participation was brilliant and we saw girls from Year 9 to Year 13 getting super involved in activities and having a really enjoyable time. Lunchtime sausages and baking was provided by the volleyball girls and the additional ice cream sales seemed to be a hit. The Prefects managed to hold on to their title and came out victorious in the Prefect vs Staff relay, and the House Relays provided entertaining and intense viewing. Overall the day had a great atmosphere and staff and students all really enjoyed themselves. A huge thank you to everyone for another successful sports day.

A huge congratulations to the girls that broke records throughout the day.
