Congratulations to Ella Hou and Alex Maffey for receiving a 2021 Otago Community Trust Outward Bound Scholarships for July 2022. These are two bonus scholarships that were unable to be fulfilled from another school last year, and have been offered to Otago Girls'. Each scholarship is $3450 towards the full cost of the course.

Ella and Alex will be participating in the Mind Body Soul course from 5th -25th July, based in Anakiwa, Queen Charlotte Sound. Outward Bound’s stated goal is “to help participants reach their full potential through challenge and adventures in the outdoors”. Learning through doing means participants take responsibility over the challenge ahead of them. The focus of Outward Bound lies in building lifelong transferable skills and attitudes that are applicable to work, study, and life beyond school.

We are excited for Ella and Alex, and know they will make the most of this opportunity, have an amazing time, grow and develop their strengths, and form new friendships.
