The year 12 and 13 Young Enterprise students spent the afternoon on Wednesday pitching their business ideas to various business people from across the city. Otago Girls' holds quite a reputation in this space being well represented in the regional final and a National champion of the competition a few years ago. The business people representing various organisations were excited to hear the Young Entrepreneurs' ideas and build on them. Many students walked out with precious networking skills and contacts in the industry to help with manufacturing. The students were highly engaged over the six/seven minute speed meets. This is a great start to their business ventures, and it is wonderful to see the students developing their ideas and linking them with potential mentors. All the business mentors had positive things to say about the students emerging ideas. We look forward to the students now taking their ideas into production and eventually sales.
