Itinerant Music Concert and Sign-Up for Instruments and Ensembles

Dr W Martin, TIC Music —

Year 9 and 10 students will be attending the itinerant music teachers' concert in the Hall on Monday during period 5. Students should go to their period 5 classes, drop off their bags and get their name marked on the roll before moving to the hall with their classroom teacher.

There are many different opportunities to study music at Otago Girls' and we encourage all girls to consider studying an instrument through lessons or participating in ensembles. The School offers subsidised itinerant lessons for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Cornet, French Horn, Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass. We also offer lessons for Ukulele, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano and Voice on a private Basis. If your child is interested in taking lessons or joining a music ensemble - or is continuing with either of these activities - please fill out the attached form.

All students engaged in itinerant lessons are expected to join a school ensemble. Groups include Choir, Concert Band, Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Band, Open Strings, Chamber Music and Rockquest. Information about individual ensembles will be posted in the notices over the coming week.
