Junior Production

Ms K Dick, Junior Production —

The close of Term Three saw the junior school shine as they worked on Cellbound, the 2023 junior production. Cellbound centred around a recalcitrant school girl who spent far too much time on her phone. Losing the phone in English to the school office, Rachel, our hero was thrown into a weird world of literature and soap opera. For a spell, she was forced to read big books and hang out with Shakespearean kings, a drama queen or two, a wizard, and a tyrant to name but a few famous literary figures. Artificial Intelligence was also a culprit and a force to be reckoned with. Congratulations to the cast of actors, dancers, talented singers, artists, and our amazing technical crew. We lost a couple of actors to the winter ills and we were sorry that they got to miss the final show but we were able to shift things around and emergency stand-by actors took up the challenge with superb integrity and professionalism. You were total stars! Thank you too, to Mr Pickard for his Frankenstein's monster creations where Mr. Richards and Mr Curtis became almost recognisable yet insanely funny up on the stage. A big thank you to Mrs Moraes Madsen and Ms Veenvliet for their support in choreography and costume. Mr Shields was instrumental in making sure we had some receptive and enthusiastic audiences from contributing schools for our matinee performances. We hope you got an opportunity to come along and celebrate the junior school with us but if you didn't, we hope you will join us next year when there is bound to be more mirth and shenanigans from Years 9 and 10 in 2024. Thank you again to my wonderful cast and crew of talented and generous young people.
