Cultural Chords at The Big Sing Finale
Last Thursday Cultural Chords, our Pasifika inspired choir, together with members of Wairua Puhou, performed at the opening ceremony of the Big Sing Finale at the Dunedin Town Hall.
The finale brings together New Zealand's top twenty four choirs for three days of competition choral music making. Approximately one thousand students, teachers and choral directors congregated together to view the official opening. The ceremony was also streamed live. Cultural Chords appreciated and relished in the opportunity to showcase their vocal talents to our visitors. Please following the link to view our performance. https://youtu.be/A9rsckLXkr0
This performance of Ave Lo'u Ola was arranged and composed by our director, Metitilani Alo, and conducted by assistant director, Laulalatoa-Sammy I'amafana Moana Seau. Mac Te Ngahue composed the karanga, delivered by Autumn Scarf-Matthews, and tutored the haka.
