The ākonga in year 10 have been busy in their teams preparing for market day. They have invested their start up capital and are looking forward to a big day of sales. 

Market day will be on Wednesday the 28th of September.

Here are just a few of the products on offer:

The Brownie Oven

We are going to make creative flavours of brownies with an additional decoration(chocolate based) for a simplistic elegant look. The flavours include: normal, cookie dough brownie and caramel. We are also doing sherbet including raspberry, lime flavors. We have elevated the sherbet by adding edible glitter and including lollipops in each bag that will separate us from our competitors.

Our product idea induce homemade chocolate brownies topped with a delicate chocolate drizzle as well as either:

• Mini M&M’s

• Marshmallows

• Mixed

Sweet Tooth Cupcakes and Cookies

Our idea includes chocolate cupcakes with buttercream icing and crushed Oreos on top and 3 Oreos dipped in creamy, milk, Whittaker's chocolate with drizzle of white chocolate on top (per person.) Our product is simple but clean, it is easy to make, executed nicely, with a cheap price from $2-3. We made a schedule to be able to bake quick but efficiently so it only takes a day, we had week of planning out who's going to do what and who's going out to buy our resources and then split the total cost into 3 which made our process easier. We also came up with a poster to help advertise our product and put them over the school. To make sure about others health and safety we made sure to always sanitize and keep everything we use clean and make sure our food is baked properly to a high standard

Sugar and Spice

Our product is a lip scrub to soften and exfoliate your lips. They will come in many flavours and will all be vegetarian. They will have the option of a lip tint. The containers are microwave and dishwasher safe and are reusable. We are unique because not many people plan on selling lips scrubs and our will be homemade. We are letting the people decide on flavors for our scrubs. We will make sure that there is and option for everyone so no one will miss out. Flavours that will be included are strawberries and cream, raspberry, cinnamon and vanilla. They are very affordable and easy to use.

EZ Bracelets

We are going to be selling handmade embroidery string bracelets as well as do it yourself bracelet making kits. These kits will include embroidery string and a paper with a QR code with a link to a YouTube video and instructions on how to make your own bracelet. I think that people will buy our bracelets because unlike food, bracelets last forever so people can keep them for as long as they want. Also people like that it’s pre-made because they take a while to make and some people don’t have that kind of time, however for people who want to make the bracelets they can buy the kits to make it themselves. What makes our bracelets different from others is we have lots of different patterns and colours so we are sure that there will be a bracelet that everyone will like.
