Introducing our Community Service Prefect

Kia ora, I am Sophie the Community Service prefect for 2024. I am really excited for my role this year and to grow as a leader and help get our students involved in the community. My role is to promote service and engage students with the community.

A fun fact about me is that I just got a new puppy called Monty and I absolutely love him to bits! If I’m not at school or rowing you can guarantee I'll be with him.

My goals for this prefect role include helping students realise the benefits of volunteering in terms of getting jobs, experience and scholarships. Also I aim to make volunteering opportunities more accessible and easy to get involved in so more people are able to easily give back to their community.

Some events I plan to organise and get our students involved in for 2024 are Shave for a Cure, the Relay for Life, our annual Easter baskets, as well as getting more students enrolled in the Student Volunteer Army and Duke of Edinburgh Award programmes.

I am really looking forward to the year ahead and excited to see what I can achieve and help others achieve!
