Te Pōkai Kārearea - Year 7&8
PCT
On Monday 10 March we had two teams of 4 students go to compete at the PCT Police course at Cowles Stadium in Christchurch. It was a really fun experience that was enjoyed by all.
Team 1 consisted of Cooper S, Finn, Issy and Harper and they came second overall which was a huge achievement. We will get a BBQ provided by the Police later in the year as a prize. Last year we were third so we have improved on it this year.
The teams competed over six events which were of 20 minutes each. The highlights were the speed gun race and the PCT obstacle course. Harper was clocked at 26 km\hr and was awarded a speeding ticket. Thanks to Avas Mum for driving and Hayley for supervising the teams.
ART
In Kārearea we have been making art about what Lyttelton Harbour and what it might have looked like in the mid 1800’s. The brief was to do a sketch form the top of the Bridle Path. This was linked to our class novel The Ghost on the Hill.
ST JOHNS
Over the term we have had Nikki coming in from the St Johns to teach us about wellbeing and some basic first aid. We have been learning a lot about ourselves and how we can keep ourselves in the green.
Congratulations
A massive well done to Autymn and her team coming third in the latest marching competition.
