Library on Wednesdays

This week we have resumed our class library visits. These will be every week on Wednesdays. Children can borrow two books at a time and return them the following Wednesday. The children select these themselves and this provides an opportunity for you to read to your child at home. Remember to stop and discuss the book as you read the story as this extends and supports your child’s literacy development immensely.

Buddy Time

Last week we met with our Korimako buddies and spent time reading together. Each Weka child has been assigned at least one older buddy. We aim to meet regularly to develop connections with the older students in the school and have time to share our learning.

Grandparents day

On Friday 4th April grandparents (or your child’s older relative, neighbour or caregiver) are invited to come along to spend some time with your child from 12:00pm - 12:30pm. They are welcome to bring a packed lunch and have lunch at school if they wish. This will be an opportunity for the children to talk about their learning and what they like doing at school.
