PTA Update

CALL FOR HELPERSWith the 2020 school year kicking off, we are now calling for volunteers to help with several upcoming fundraisers, including a merged Ohoka Stars in their Eyes/OhokaFest committee and the Plant Sale in October. It doesn't matter whether you can give an hour a fortnight or just a one-off day, we'd love to hear from you at pta@ohoka.school.nz. Every helping hand helps support our awesome school!

PTA MEETINGSWe warmly invite all parents to join us at next month's AGM, or at any of the upcoming meetings. We also welcome new PTA members, with voting taking place at the AGM. The commitment is minimal - just one 1-2 hour meeting once a month during term time - anything over that is completely up to you. New parents and junior parents are particularly encouraged to put up their hands!Dates for 2020:

All meetings are held in the Staff Room at Ohoka SchoolMonday 9 March (AGM)Monday 6 AprilMonday 11 MayMonday 8 JuneMonday 10 AugustMonday 14 SeptemberMonday 12 OctoberMonday 9 NovemberMonday 7 December

HALL SPONSORSHIPPattie Pegler and Pete Hatton have been working diligently over several months to create sponsorship packages for display advertising in the school hall and we are delighted to announce that opportunities are now LIVE! If you would like to show your support for the community and get your brand front-and-centre at a variety of local sports and community events for a very reasonable price, then please contact Pete Hatton via peterhatton1976@gmail.com or on 027 222 6911.

DISCO FEVER!Don't forget to join us for the School Disco this Friday night at the Ohoka Hall (the one opposite the Domain, not at the School). The children have put together a playlist and we will have pizza and treats for them as they dance the night away! Entry is $5 with Year 1-4 welcome from 5:30-7:00pm and Years 5-8 welcome from 7:30-9:00pm. Parents are also welcome to get their groove on (much to the disgust of their children)!Younger siblings are welcome in the early session, but we ask that you please only bring older siblings after 7:30pm as they can be a bit too enthusiastic for the smaller children.
