🌿 Kia ora e te whānau –

Weather Impact:

Once again, our summer has reminded us how unpredictable it can be, and unfortunately we needed to close on Tuesday. Communication services were disrupted, which made things challenging for everyone who relies on them.

What is the process for deciding the school will close:

In the first instance, I contact the Presiding Member (Andrea) and we carefully discuss the situation. I then notify whānau via Messenger and text with the decision. As we have seen, conditions can vary significantly on either side of the bay; however, if safety is at risk, the decision to close is clear.

Whānau Education Action Plan meetings next week:

Next week we will be holding our conferences to review previous goals and set new ones together. Please select a time that suits you and return the attached form by Friday.

Lincoln University Landscape Architecture Workshop at Okains Bay School

We are excited to host a Lincoln University Landscape Architecture workshop here at Okains Bay School.

Come along and be part of an engaging community session focused on reinvigorating and redesigning the Okains Bay town centre. This promises to be an inspiring and enjoyable afternoon, with afternoon tea provided.

Our town centre has so much to offer both visitors and locals. This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to share ideas, explore possibilities, and help shape a vision for something truly special in our bay.

When: Friday 27th at 1:00pm

Where: Okains Bay School

Please RSVP to Nada.Toueir@lincoln.ac.nz if you would like to attend. Everyone is warmly welcome to come along and contribute their thoughts and ideas.

Enjoy the weekend ahead, everyone!
