Term 3 Staffing Update

Matt Kennedy —

We are fortunate to have a passionate, talented, committed team of teachers and support staff here at Omanu Schol.

As we reach the midpoint of the year, we’d like to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate some important changes within our school community.

Firstly, it is with mixed emotions that we bid a fond farewell to Jo Earle, who has dedicated 12 wonderful years to nurturing and educating our students at Omanu School. Jo’s unwavering commitment and passion have positively impacted countless lives. We extend our deepest gratitude for her years of service and wish her all the best as she begins a new chapter at Rangiuru School.

We also have a special announcement to make. After an incredible 27 years of dedicated service at Omanu School, and many more years at other schools, Sally Paviour Smith is retiring. To honour her many contributions, we will celebrate Sally's last day at the end of Term 3 with a special assembly and an afternoon tea with staff and invited guests. We look forward to celebrating Sally’s time as an educator and long-serving member of the Omanu School team and wishing her a fulfilling retirement filled with new adventures and some well-deserved relaxation.

We are delighted to welcome Fiona Gordon, who will be joining us to continue with Room 10 for Terms 3 and 4. Fiona brings a wealth of teaching experience from both New Zealand and overseas, and we are excited about the expertise and enthusiasm she will contribute to our school.

Additionally, we are pleased to introduce Megan Budge as our new entrant teacher through to the end of the year. Megan’s enthusiasm for early childhood education promises to create a nurturing environment for our youngest learners as they begin their educational journey at Omanu School.

We also warmly welcome Esther Page to our support staff team as a Learning Assistant. Esther’s background in teaching both in New Zealand and abroad will provide valuable support to our students and contribute to their educational and personal growth.

We are thrilled about these new additions to our team and are confident that each of them will enhance our school community while upholding the high standards of education and care that we value at Omanu.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to our new staff members, celebrating the remarkable career of Sally, and expressing our heartfelt appreciation to Jo Earle for her many years of dedicated service.
