Loud Shirt Day
We are supporting The Hearing House who help children who are deaf and have cochlear implants.
On Friday 17th October we are supporting Loud Shirt Day which raises awareness of people living with cochlear implants. So find your loudest, brightest and craziest shirt to wear this Friday! www.loudshirtday.org.nz
Here at Omanu School we have children who have cochlear implants. It is a great opportunity for us to learn about the benefits of cochlear implants and how they allow individuals to hear and communicate.
From one Omanu parent: “The Hearing House has been absolutely life changing for us. Providing us with ongoing equipment, audiologists, speech therapists, putting us in touch with other families to hear their stories and generally helping us along our journey.”
Loud Shirt Day is a national fundraising campaign for The Hearing House and Southern Cochlear Implant Programme, which are two charities here in NZ dedicated to helping all New Zealanders access sound and communication through cochlear implants.
All Omanu Whānau and tamariki are welcome to wear your loudest shirt, and
