Omokoroa No.1 School —

Kia ora koutou,

It was fantastic to see our House competition start this week. Our Senior House Leaders have been appointed and they did an amazing job leading their team in the House Cheer and Tug of War competition. Each term we aim to have 3/4 House Colour Days, as well as a wide variety of House events, to allow students to build a strong identity with their House and other students.

Over the coming weeks a lot of our students are heading away to camps. These outdoor learning activities are an important part of what we do at Omokoroa No.1 School and I would like to thank all of the teachers for their hard work to plan for the camps, and all of the parents that are able to assist as parent helpers while at camp.

Next Thursday and Friday for the very first time we are hosting the Tauranga Top Schools Competition. This is an exciting event and fundraising opportunity for our school. If you are able to help in any way please let me know as we need a lot of helpers.

Please remember that if you need to come into school to drop off your child/ren before school please park on the orchard side of the school. The footpath area along Emeny Road closest to the school from 8.30-9am is designated as ‘Stop Drop and Go’ so parents can make a quick drop off.

Our Dads Golf Day at the Omokoroa Golf Club is on Monday 18th March. This is a fantastic opportunity for school dads to connect while playing 9 holes of social golf. Ambrose format in teams of four. More information is included in the newsletter to register.

Nga mihi nui,

Craig Pentecost
