Exciting times in our whanau at the moment.
We have been studying the importance of water in our world with an overall theme of Everyone deserves clean water. We have looked at the water cycle, surface tension and other science based activities. We have also created art around the water drop looking at shading of colours using pastels.
Many students are doing the 40 Hour Callenge with the aim of fundraising to help provide water to countries in Africa. Our class would love to raise $180 which would put in a pump for a village to have access to clean water.
We are also lucky enough to have the STEM-ED (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) programme which has come into our school to teach Robotics on Thursday and Friday of this week. The students will have the opportunity to create a model Moon Rover which they will be able to take home. There will be an Open Day session on this Friday from 3.15- 4 for family and friends to come and view the work completed over the past two days. We would love to see you all!
