Year 5 and 6 Field Trip to Puketoki Reserve

Bay Conservation Alliance has continued to educate the Year 5 and 6 Team about local conservation issues.

Recently we visited Puketoki Reserve as part of the Freshwater, Wai Maori Programme. We explored the local stream there, measuring the water velocity and clarity. We also got to look at a range of freshwater insects and invertebrates under the microscopes.

After lunch we had a nice walk in the bush and a chat with the BCA educators about what we can do to help look after our local waterways.
