Principals Message

Omokoroa No.1 School —

Kia ora koutou,

Term 4 is the busiest of the year for obvious reasons. The Mower Day preparation is in full swing and I thank you for all of the hard work our entire learning community puts into making this day a huge success. I am really looking forward to defending my Principal Go-Cart title...not so much the 'Dunk the Principal'.

Last week we had a lot of students competing at the WBOP Orienteering competition.  Special thanks to Ange Power for her expert coaching and all of the parents that helped with transport. Congratulations to all of the students that competed and represented our school with pride.

Unfortunately, after 21 years of leading our Library, Raewyn Earnshaw has decided to resign at the end of the year. In the coming weeks, we will begin to advertise for a suitable Librarian replacement. There will be a formal advertisement and process but if you know of someone that may be interested please let me know. I would like to thank Rae for all that she has done for Omokoroa No.1 School and wish her well in her future adventures.

The Mower Day signage will be put up shortly. This year Just Sheds has provided us with a large A-frame trailer, which can be moved around the town to promote our event. Craig Taylor from Admark Print has completed the signage and it is ready to go!

This term the BoT will be sending out a 'Learning Community Survey' to all parents. We would really appreciate getting a large percentage of surveys completed as this feedback helps the BoT to set the learning goals and priorities for 2020.

Nga mihi nui,

Craig Pentecost
