Principal's Message
Kia ora koutou,
As you know, the winter season often brings a rise in illnesses, and unfortunately, our school has not been immune. We have seen an increase in staff absences due to seasonal bugs and flu-like symptoms, and lost voices. Our dedicated team has been working hard to ensure that students continue to receive quality education despite these challenges and we are lucky to have been able to secure great relief teachers. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
We encourage all families to remain vigilant and take preventive measures to keep everyone healthy. Regular handwashing, good nutrition, and adequate rest can make a significant difference in combating these seasonal ailments.
Our school’s Year 7/8 teams are gearing up for the AIMS Games, which will be taking place from the 7th September. This prestigious event brings together young athletes from across NZ, and we are incredibly proud of our students who have been training hard and representing our school with great enthusiasm. Best wishes to all the participating teams. Your dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship are truly commendable. We look forward to cheering you on and celebrating your achievements!
Our bi-annual whole school production preparation has begun. This year’s production promises to be a fantastic showcase of our students' talents and creativity. Auditions for main roles have been completed and students have started to learn the choir songs. All students are expected to participate in acting, singing, and dancing. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their skills, collaborate with peers, and be part of a memorable school event. It has been exciting to see the enthusiasm and talent that our students will bring to the production!
I would like to extend a big congratulations to all the students who competed in the school speech finals. Your hard work, eloquence, and confidence were truly impressive. Each of you demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication, and we are incredibly proud of your achievements. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we are excited to see how your public speaking skills continue to develop. Well done to everyone who participated!
Nga mihi nui,
Craig Pentecost
