Principals' Message

Omokoroa No.1 School —

Important information and updates from our Principal.

Kia ora koutou,

We are in the penultimate week before our school production of 'The Beetles'. The students are doing an amazing job during rehearsals and are really excited to perform on the big stage next week. A whole school production is a major undertaking with 285 students. We are fortunate to have Gobsmacked leading us and an amazing staff helping to pull it all together. Tickets are on sale now via the online School Shop. We would love to see a huge audience each night!

We would love to have some company sponsors that we can promote on the nights of the production. If you are interested in being a sponsor of our production please let me know.

With our junior school roll growing steadily this term we have started up a new classroom for the older Year 1 students to allow room for the new 5 year old students that started last week. Jane Haden is now teaching this class in Room 12 (next to room 6). Special thanks to Carrus for providing a new TV for this classroom.

Nominations for our BoT election close this Wednesday. If you would like to stand for our school BoT your nomination must be submitted online by Wednesday 3rd August, 12pm. An email has been sent by CES explaining how to submit your nomination.

As you all know parking around our school is very limited at peak morning and afternoon times. In the morning parking along the footpath before staff car park entry is for 'Stop and Drop' ONLY. When parents park and walk in with students it makes the drop off system not work effectively. If you need to come into school to drop off students please park on the opposite side of the road.

Nga mihi nui,

Craig Pentecost
