Updated timeframe for new Ōmokoroa Schools from 2025 to 2026

As you are aware, planning for two new schools on the Ōmokoroa Peninsula is underway as part of the Government’s comprehensive plan to support growth in this fast-growing catchment.

Initially, the new schools were projected to open in 2025. This timeframe has since been updated to 2026. The Ministry has identified that this is a more realistic delivery schedule given the level of consultation required, the expected delays of operating in a COVID environment and the restriction of conducting the major earthworks during the dry months.
