The Dancers

Skirts swishing with the flowing movements, jewels shining, catching the sun's attention. Rich colours swirling into rainbows of colourful patterns, blue, gold, yellow, purple, orange. Sequins of gold, glistening in the spotlight. Click, click, the sounds of dandiya sticks beating together into one joyful rhythm. Tanisha swirled around, her skirt flowing out, creating a bell shaped dome. Spinning, spinning, spinning never ending. She doesnt stop, we don't want her to stop. The colours swirling, jewels and sequins catching the light, she's shining like the sun. Click, click, into final positions, the music stops.

The crowd roars! Shouts are lost in the sound of clapping.

Stage Fright

Beams of sun blinded me. A blur of heads lurked below me. My feet started to shake and tremble rocking me side to side. The cold paper was as light as a feather. The song starts to play and I feel it ring my ears. I feel as if I can fall right through the stage. My mouth opens, I shape my words, making them be sharp, smooth, loud and quiet. I can feel the positive energy from my sister Alais and my friend Stevie. They looked good and they were faking it until they made it. The crowd looked at us like we were aliens. The song came to a halt. I could hear cheering and clapping. My sister gave me a big toothy grin. My face felt as hot as embers but it felt like a lot of weight came off my shoulders.
