The Juniors have recently been learning about space. Each class is having a turn visiting the Tauranga Astronomical Society.
We have been so lucky so far to have good weather with clear skies! We learnt about how Earth revolves around the sun, and the sun revolves around the moon. We also realised how tiny Earth is in comparison to the other planets in our solar system!
We were lucky to look through special telescopes and saw Saturn and its rings, and a satellite moving. Some classes saw the space station and moon, too.
The Tauranga Astronomical Society is open to the public if you are interested in going along. They have regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday evening each month.
