Wild About NZ

Omokoroa No.1 School —

Wild About NZ is back at it this term. This time on the hunt for pests like rats and mice around the school grounds.

In our first session we learned about the types of tracks different pests make. Did you know hedgehog tracks look like little hands? We put out traker tunnels around the school grounds to see what pests leave their tracks and where. Next session we'll use this information to set up traps around the school grounds the students will monitor. Last year we caught quite a few rats. If you have pests on your property you can get a free trap from Predator free bop https://www.predatorfreebop.nz/
