Principal's Message

Omokoroa No.1 School —

A message from our school Principal.

Kia ora koutou,

Our students are very lucky to have such amazing staff across Omokoroa No.1 School. Today I decided it was 'Staff Appreciation Day'. I surprised them with fresh coffee and muffins to thank them for all that they do for our students. Special thanks to Shawn and Tracy Kenny for bringing down their coffee cart.

As the end of Term 2 approaches, student progress reports will be sent home with your child on Friday 16th June. These reports will provide an overview of your child's academic progress, highlighting their strengths, and areas for improvement. We encourage you to review the report carefully and engage in constructive conversations with your child about their achievements and goals for the future.

We highly value the partnership between our school and parents, as we believe it plays a vital role in development of our students. Parent interviews will be held on the 20th and 22nd June to discuss your child's progress and academic journey. This will provide an opportunity for you to meet with your child's teachers, gain insights into their learning progress, and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. We encourage all parents to participate in these interviews to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment for our students. Bookings can be made online following the link in this newsletter.

Special thanks to families that have been able to support our LitQuiz team. Our community has raised $920 to help get them to compete at the national competition in Wellington next weekend.

Good luck to our students that are competing in the WBOP Cross Country Championships next week.

Nga mihi nui,

Craig Pentecost
