Most of the junior classes have been studying ‘Bread’. They were interested in finding out about the names of the different types of breads, and enjoyed tasting a variety of these.

Classes have read various books about bread, including ‘The Little Red Hen’ story. They learnt about where flour comes from. Some classes did experiments with yeast, while others have made loaves of bread. This included loads of maths, with measuring out the ingredients accurately and ensuring the timing was just right. The children especially enjoyed eating the warm crusty slices. Some children were heard saying ‘I want some more’.
