Principal's Message

Omokoroa No.1 School —

A message from our school Principal.

Kia ora koutou,

It was exciting to send our Year 8 students off on their last EOTC camp to Waitawheta Hut. They have spent the last two nights sleeping in the bush and being responsible for all of their own cooking and equipment management. Special thanks to the parents that were able to attend the camp and Mr Joe and Mrs Haden for all of their work to ensure the students had an unforgetable experience.

At the end of this year we unfortunately have to say goodbye to two fantastic teachers. Susan McRoberts and Sue Morgan-French have decided to retire. They have been huge assets to our learning community and will be missed by all.

All new staffing appointments for 2024 have been made. Please see information in this newsletter with further details on the new additions to our Learning Community.

The ticket sales for our Rob Cope CyberSafety Parent event have been going well so far. This is being held on Monday 20th November. I encourage anyone that still hasn't purchased a ticket yet to get in quick before it sells out.

Now that the weather is warming up and we are seeing more sun the school pool is now open from Monday. Pool keys are available for school families to hire for the summer.

Nga mihi nui,

Craig Pentecost
