Principal's Message

Omokoroa No.1 School —

Important information and updates from our principal.

Kia ora koutou,

Our staffing for 2022 has been confirmed and is outlined in more detail in this newsletter. Once again we have a very strong team and also some exciting new team members joining us to start new initiatives.

Thank you to our Learning Community for supporting our Teacher Only Day as this has been valuable time for our staff to work together, without students present, focussing on assessment and our local curriculum.

Our teachers are finalising student achievement reports and class placements for 2022. These will be sent home on Monday 13 December.

Our end of year Prize Giving will be held on the 13 December, during school time, and can only be attended by school staff and students. We will livestream on our school Facebook page. The Year 8 Awards will be presented at their Leavers Dinner.

Over the last three weeks we have lots of fun events planned for our students. Please make sure you keep track of these on the school calendar.

I love greeting and farewelling our students and parents everyday on the road patrol. Please remember our road parol crossing is the safest way to cross the road for parents that have parked opposite the school. Please also remember that the parking along the left side of Emeny Road, before the staff car park is only for 'Stop and Go'. Parents need to stay at their car and once students are walking along the footpath please turn around in the bus bay. This allows the traffic to flow nicely and keeps students safe.

Nga mihi nui,

Craig Pentecost
