Monday 18th November (day after Mower Day)

The BoT have decided to have a Teacher Only Day on the Monday after Mower Day. Omokoroa No1 School management team have normally held Teacher Only Days (TOD’s) during school holiday break times. The new Primary School Teachers Collective agreement allows all schools to use eight Teacher Only Days over the next 2 ½ years. These days are designated for staff professional development on MoE learning priorities. These TOD ‘s are required to be used during term time.

The TOD on Monday 18th November will be used for staff to fine tune our draft Local Curriculum that we have been developing this year.

The school will be ‘Closed for Instruction’ on this day. This closure will not change our last day of school, Wednesday 18th December, 12.30pm.

The Monday after Mower Day is a very disruptive day to student learning and we appreciate students and parents are tired... however we require lots of parents/helpers at school to help continue the massive ‘pack down and clean up’. 

The Kenesis Childcare Team have very kindly offered parents that are helping pack up on Monday morning FREE childcare, while they are helping. Parents that are unable to find alternative childcare for their children, due to work commitments, will be able to book their children in to Kenesis childcare, based at school.
