Board of Trustees Message

Omokoroa No.1 School —

Welcome Lee Smith as a new Trustee to the Board.

Tuesday 18th June saw the first meeting take place for the new Board of Trustees, where we welcomed Lee Smith as a new Trustee to the Board, and re-elected Simon Finnimore as Chairperson for the remainder of the year.

Huge Thanks to Jill Astle for her work on the recent elections. We're very lucky to have Jill running this for our school - her experience and commitment is invaluable!

With so many of the board returning, we were able to jump straight into matters, hearing about all the great things that have been taking place over the past term in school, and picking up again a number of the outstanding projects.

We're happy to report that the Junior Pirate Ship construction will begin during the upcoming July holidays, scheduled to be finished in time for the start of Term 3.

We can also report that the construction of our Swimming Changing sheds is very close! We now have a MOE assigned project manager for the work, and the board have signed off related tasks to get this underway. Completion is scheduled for this summer - fingers crossed, in time for our swimming programmes in Term 4. Thanks Aaron Power for his all his work on this project!

Parents and students can now see new signage for our classrooms, office, staffroom, and library happening over the next term. Work is has been completed by Tim Broadhurst - not surprisingly - an ex-student of the school.

Keep well and safe for the rest of the term and the upcoming holidays!
