Room 11 Explores Piet Mondarian's Abstract Art
This term Room 11 did a study on the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian (1872-1944) with Mrs Jackson.
Piet (pronounced like Pete) was one of the first artists to make abstract art. Abstract art is made of lines, shapes and colours and it's not a picture of anything specific.
Piet Mondarian's art is made of certain lines, shapes and colours. Can you see what they are? The class learnt about what are horizontal and vertical lines as well as what colours are primary colours. They then tried making their own abstract art. The results are fantastic and so vibrant!
