Principal's Message
Kia ora koutou,
Today we were very fortunate to have our Kapa Haka group perform to our whole school and whanau as part of our Te Wiki o te Reo Maori. It is fantastic to see the growth and self confidence in these students as they prepare for our learning community Whakangahau in November. Special thanks to all of the whanau that were able to come and watch the performance.
The ‘Wooley Pups’ show was a huge hit with all students and I’m sure it was a hot topic at home last night. Special thanks to Mrs Morgan French for organising the event.
This week Sue Morgan-French has made a very difficult decision and has decided that she will retire at the end of this year. This will be a huge loss for our learning community as Sue has had a huge impact for all students fortunate enough to have been taught by her over the last 25+ years at Omokoroa No.1 School.
During the holidays we have several building contractors on site to complete roofing and painting projects. If you at at school during the holidays please keep clear of any workers or scaffolding.
As we head into the last week of Term 3 I would like to thank everyone for their continued support for our amazing kura and students. I hope you all get the opportunity to spend some extra quality time with their children and rest as we prepare for another busy Term 4.
Nga mihi nui,
Craig Pentecost
