Principal's Message

Omokoroa No.1 School —

Important information and updates our Principal.

Kia ora koutou,

It was exciting to get our students and staff back at school last week. Thank you to all of the parents for wearing your masks, and following the drop off and pick up procedures.

Over the next three weeks we will continue to operate with our Alert Level 2 procedures and ensure that we do our bit to keep everyone safe.

In order to meet MoH requirements there are some school events that have to be modified for them to be able to continue. We appreciate your support with this as we would like to keep as many school events on as possible.

Our fundraising team is excited to continue with Mower Day planning and we are hoping to be at Alert Level 1 by November 21st so this huge event can go ahead. Please keep an eye out for all communication heading your way about Mower Day.

Next week our Year 8 students are heading to Whakapapa Ski Field for their final Omokoroa No.1 School camp experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn skills in an alpine environment and provides a key experience for the personal development of students.

Unfortunately this week we farewell Jacqui Sedgewick who has been an amazing Learning Assistant and team member at our school over the past 6 years. I would like to thank her for all that she has done for our students and learning community and wish her all the best with her exciting new life adventure in Oamaru.

Nga mihi nui,

Craig Pentecost
