Our Year 3-8 students are making fantastic progress with the Maths Whizz programme at school.

To ensure that we have a consistent approach across the school the following guidelines have been agreed upon with our teachers.

• All students can spend a maximum of 90 minutes on the tutorial aspect of Maths Whizz. This allows students sufficient time to work towards achieving their weekly progressions.
• All students are allowed to use Maths Whizz at home as part of their home learning. Students should use the revision aspects of Maths Whizz to reinforce prior learning.
• Parents can help students with Maths Whizz at home if students need help to read the questions or clarify what they need to do. However, if students are working on the tutorials please do not help them work out the answers as this gives a false reflection of their understanding.
• Teachers would prefer that students use the majority of their 90 minutes during school time. If students use up their weekly time they will only be able to use the Topic Challenge (revision aspects) of Maths Whizz during the day.
