Omokoroa No.1 School —

Update from our Board of Trustees.

Thank you to our school families for your understanding and cooperation with in relation to our new parking and drop off/pick up strategy. As well as being a safer, more efficient way of getting our children to and from school working within this tricky area of the school, it’s wonderful to see our staff smiling and waving and welcoming our children kids to and from school each day.

We are now in the process of working with the Council and Police to look at further options to make traffic around school safer. We also will be training our senior students as Crossing Wardens to allow us to permanently have this safety method in place.

We are obviously saddened by the news this week that we have had to cancel this year’s Mower Day gala. This was a huge decision, but one we felt had to be made that feels right, given the restrictions and disruptions made as a result of the situation we find ourselves faced with due to the Covid-19 restrictions and disruptions.

It’s no surprise that our fundraising team have some other plans up their sleeves to help raise funds for our school this year. Keep an eye out for comms to come out soon about our alternative fundraising events this year.

We hope you enjoy the rest of the term!
