A HUGE thank you and congratulations to our 9/10 'Behind the Scenes' Performing Arts class who supported Temuka Primary School and their production of 'Toku Mana.'

After five weeks of prep and weekly Thursday/Friday hang outs with the lead characters, two full run throughs and FOUR shows, our students deserve a well earned pat on the back! All of this whilst balancing their studies and extracurricular commitments.

From mixing/editing the music, learning the script and songs, projecting images and videos, learning how to use the spotlight, lighting system, sound desk and many professional microphone head sets, students were given a real life experience of what it takes to work behind the scenes of a real production.

Backstage students were working both sets of curtains, moving props (some made from scratch lovingly by our students), supported the kids who were coming on and off stage, making sure the mics were working and costumes were perfect whilst keeping calm and following direction.

Another shout out to the students who volunteered their time to film three out of four shows, take photos of rehearsals and performances and make time consuming props from scratch, what an effort!

Thank you also to Opihi staff who supported us throughout this process as well it was incredible to see our beautiful hall filled with people and full of life !
