Fractured families
Suzanne Emslie's large scale sculptures graced Glenfalloch Gardens briefly.
Masters of Visual Art student Suzanne Emslie created monumental works which were fired in the largest kilns in the Ceramics studio. The eleven ceramic statues together provide a portrait of a family.
The pieces were displayed to the public in Glenfalloch Gardens for Suzanne's final exhibition, In the Strawberry Patch.
"They loved the idea of something that's really quite big and comical and that could sit outside for two, three, four weeks."
Suzanne's hope was that people would recognise something of themselves. The fractured feel of the figures was appropriate to give visitors a feel for the fractured relationships in this family portrait.
