Relevant Research - June 2017

On 10 July 2017 we are pleased to be hosting guests to hear international speaker Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino, a designer and highly-regarded expert in the Internet of Things. Her research presentation in Dunedin will have a particular focus on the impact of the Internet of Things for the delivery of civic services. Let us know if you would like to register to attend. You can read more about this event below, together with stories about a range of research which our staff and students have been doing.

We also have other research seminars coming up which you are welcome to attend. Associate Professor Caro McCaw's first research seminar after returning from a Fulbright Scholarship in the USA will be on Thursday 20 July, from 12 to 1pm in P152, Dunedin School of Art, Riego Street. Then on Thursday 27 July, at the same time and place, we will hear from Lynn Taylor - she is one of Otago Polytechnic's distinguished alumni. On Thursday 3 August we host Marcus Williams who is Dean of Research and Enterprise  at Unitec in Auckland. Marcus' visit is supported by Fred Staub Open Art sponsorship, for art research seminars open to the public.

We are looking forward to the Art and Genetics exhibition being held in association with the conference of the Genetics Society of Australasia.  This is the culmination of a six month collaborative project between artists from the Dunedin School of Art, University of Otago scientists and other Otago artists. The exhibition will be open from 10am to 3pm daily from 4 to 16 July 2017 at the HD Skinner Annex, Otago Museum. Entry is free.
