Workshop safety training

Health and safety requirements in New Zealand mean that staff who are using equipment or machinery need to be trained to do so safely. As a result businesses are proactively seeking training to ensure all relevant staff have the skills to safely use equipment.

Nick Moss, Stuart Hewson, Fred Cross and John Stocks, have responded to this need by providing training to employers. They make it their business to keep up-to-date with safe working practice; they need to, so that our students can use our workshops safely and are work-ready when they graduate. 

The trades staff's familiarity with a wide range of machines and other equipment means they can provide training for any industry with workshop engineering.  The programme provides employers with evidence that training has been provided. Clients so far include Fisher & Paykel Appliances and Heli Support. In a recent survey of course participants 93% either agreed or strongly agreed that they took advantage of the learning opportunities provided.
