Texpo: IT student project by Dunedin City Council

TEXpo Event

TEXpo was one of eight events Otago Polytechnic was involved with during TechWeek 2018.

On Saturday 26 May the Dunedin Techweek TEXpo was held across The Otago University Business School, and the Otago Polytechnic Hub. It was a free, collaborative, cross-campus showcase of innovative tech research, products and industries in Dunedin. Otago Polytechnic had thirty exhibitors onsite with eight of those being our own schools.

TEXpo was buzzing with 300 public attendees visiting The Hub and enjoying the hands on interactive displays and listening to the Tech talks that went on throughout the day. A team of five of our Event Management students did a great job organising this event for us.

Feedback from the exhibitors was overwhelmingly positive, many of them taking the opportunity to network with other tech companies and back business connections. The exhibitors who have not visited The Hub before were blown away by the space and environment.

Feedback from attendees was again extremely positive, many finding out about exciting innovative technology happening in our city that they had no idea about. It was also encouraging to see children and young adults engaging with the technology on display.

Tech Week is a national event and it was exciting for Dunedin to hold such a successful collaboration and showcase.
