This year is a special year in the performing arts arena for Ormiston Junior College as our learning coaches and learners with expertise in these fields combine forces to stage a major musical production for our communities to enjoy. This will be just the beginning of what we hope will become a long-standing tradition for OJC and community as continue to grow together.

Our school musical, Disney's The Lion King Jr, will hit our stage in Term 3, performing from 7th-10th August led by our creative team of Learning Coaches with production direction by Ryan Timoko-Benjamin, musical direction by Jen Woo and choreography by Bonnie Talamaivao, Nyla Joaquin & Irasa Si'ave.

The cast have a demanding three months of rehearsals ahead of them with evening practices taking place every Tuesday (every week), Wednesday (even weeks) and Thursday (odd weeks) from 3.15-5.30pm with some Saturday rehearsals and rehearsal intensives in the Term 2 holiday period. 

Cast members will also dedicate TAIP learning time to their involvement in the show as part of our Passion Project learning series from Week 5, Term 2 through to just before 'show time' in Week 2, Term 3. We know this hard work will pay off hugely in the quality of the performance and the experiences and relationships gained from being involved in a premiere performance pursuit such as this!

After an exciting first 'meet and greet' rehearsal in the final week of Term 1, we look forward to our school community coming together to produce an amazing musical production and learning experience for our students involved this year!
