Ormiston Junior College —

Kia ora, my name is Ash and I am extremely excited and proud to be part of the whanau here at OJC.

I am a born and bred Aucklander of Samoan and Tongan descent and have two younger siblings. My life is culturally and educationally diverse, from moving to Sydney when I was 8, then back to NZ to complete secondary school. Then branching out on my own as I studied at Otago University where I was fortunate enough to work and study human health and sport science for several years. I then returned to Auckland looking for a new exciting challenge so I completed a BA in sport, majoring in physical education at Unitec. I then went on to complete my post graduate diploma in secondary education at the University of Auckland.

Throughout my life I have continuously worked with young people and always had a passionate for it. Throughout my various roles of coaching, nannying and being the eldest in a big family, my love of people and education has led me to OJC where I continue to seek new challenges and build new relationships with staff and learners in an innovative, engaging and collaborative environment.
