OJC Goes Horse Riding for TAIP!

Lesley Mansell —

In our Finding Purpose TAIP, we have been encouraging our learners to find something that matters to them and basing their TAIP on something they are passionate about. Horse Riding was one experience our learners had the opportunity to try...

Davis Stables in Whitford organised these sessions with some of their best ponies.

The first session focused on the basics, caring for a horse- grooming it, and leading it, and some riding at the end.

Because the first one was so popular, we organised a second session where our OJC horse riders took more responsibility for the horses- catching them, grooming and tacking them up themselves, and riding them. The improvement was incredible to see!

The girls were so much more confident the second time around and the horses responded really well to them.

Learners involved: Jessica Sneddon, Thali Govender, Sadeen Abu Nada, Prisha Naidu, Julia Wu, Azure Walker, Alissa Hii, Tanisha Chand, Vrishti Nair, Kathy Ha, Kalen Xuan with Lesley Mansell.
