Grow up oh tender plant in the days of your life.

Grasp hold of the tools of the education of this modern world

to sustain you through this life.

Grasping hold of the treasures of your ancestors as an adornment for your person. (including the many cultures of Ormiston)

Be spiritually devoted to your faith in the Lord

(according to your beliefs and religious perspectives)

The creator and giver of all things

Working at OJC is a privilege just as it was when I was teaching at Papakura and Manurewa High Schools ,Rosehill, Aorere, and De La Salle Colleges.

Everyday we are learning something new about ourselves and how we learn in this 21st century learning environment. After completing my masters in educational leadership with AUT, it has complimented my personal growth within OJC. When I take a moment during the day to reflect and appreciate where we work and why we are here? It helps keep me grounded to the philosophy of placing your child at the centre of learning at OJC. Like the tender plants we are tending to the children so they are able to use the modern tools in constructive ways while maintaining their cultural location, values and beliefs.

Thank you for choosing us at OJC to help you with your child’s educational direction and beyond.

To you all and from our family of four children, my wife and I all say;

Nga mihi ra!! (Warm greetings)
