Introducing OJCG
2019 sees OJC embarking on several ‘first time’ events, fixtures and features and we now add the Ormiston Junior Cultural Group to the range of opportunities on offer for our young people.
After gaining inspiration from their trip to the ASB Polyfest recently in March, our learners decided to set their sights on not just visiting or watching but instead on performing at this, Aotearoa’s largest secondary cultural festival next year.
After just three weeks together they presented their debut performance for the school at our end of term values celebration as "OJCG, The Ormiston Junior Cultural Group", who presented a siva to “We Know the Way” from the animated motion picture Moana followed by a traditional Samoan Siva Tau.
A massive thanks to one of our new team members, Languages and Multi-literacies Designer, Alicia Tapu-Tauiliili for her dedication to this group and to our learners.
OJCG practice each Wednesday afternoon from 3.15pm-4.30pm in the Dance Studio. New members welcome!
